Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gallium-68 NGUL (Ga-68-NGUL) is a novel radiopharmaceutical agent used as a positron emission tomography (PET) imaging tracer targeting prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA). It is based on Glu-Urea-Lys derivatives conjugated to a chelator for gallium-68 labeling. The drug binds specifically to PSMA, which is highly expressed in prostate cancer cells, enabling sensitive detection of primary and metastatic lesions. After intravenous administration, Ga-68-NGUL rapidly clears from the blood and accumulates primarily in the kidneys, with additional uptake in salivary glands, lacrimal glands, liver, spleen, and small bowel. Clinical trials have demonstrated its safety profile and diagnostic efficacy for detecting PSMA-positive lesions in patients with prostate cancer[2][3][4][5].
