Gallium-68 PSMA-R2 is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic agent composed of a prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeting ligand (PSMA-R2) conjugated to the positron-emitting radioisotope gallium-68. It is designed for use in PET/CT imaging to detect and localize PSMA-expressing prostate cancer lesions, including metastatic and recurrent disease. The drug binds specifically to PSMA, which is highly expressed on prostate cancer cells, allowing targeted delivery of the radioactive tracer for high-sensitivity imaging. Gallium‑68 PSMA‑R2 has demonstrated favorable safety and tolerability profiles in clinical trials, with rapid clearance from non-target tissues and low radiation exposure to salivary and lacrimal glands compared with other agents. Its primary indication is the diagnosis of prostate cancer, particularly in patients with biochemical recurrence or metastatic castration-resistant disease[1][3][4][5].
