Overview

Gallium Ga 68 NODAGA-CBP8 ([68Ga]CBP8) is a peptide-based radiopharmaceutical and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent that specifically targets type I collagen. It is designed for noninvasive detection and quantification of tissue fibrosis by binding to newly deposited or less mature type I collagen fibers. The probe has demonstrated high specificity for fibrotic tissues in preclinical models and human studies, with rapid renal clearance and favorable safety profile. Its primary clinical application is the imaging of fibrotic diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis, where it can serve as a biomarker for disease progression or response to antifibrotic therapies[1][2][4][6][7][8]. The compound was developed at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging (Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School)[6].
