Overview

Gallium Ga 68-NOTA-BBN-RGD is a radiopharmaceutical agent used as a PET imaging tracer. It is a radioconjugate that combines the bombesin (BBN) fragment BBN(7-14), which targets the gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR), with an RGD motif that targets integrin αvβ3. Both GRPR and integrin αvβ3 are overexpressed in various tumors, including breast cancer and prostate cancer. The dual-targeting nature of this tracer allows for enhanced tumor detection by binding to both receptors on tumor cells. The compound is labeled with the positron-emitting isotope Gallium-68 via the NOTA chelator for PET imaging applications[1][2][3][5]. It has been primarily investigated for its use in detecting breast cancer and metastatic prostate carcinoma using PET/CT imaging[2][3]. Developed by National Institute For Biomedical Imaging And Bioengineering.
