Galvecta Plus

Galvecta Plus is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing vildagliptin and metformin hydrochloride, developed by Clinision for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Vildagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that works by increasing the levels of incretin hormones, which in turn stimulates insulin production and reduces glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. Metformin is a biguanide that improves glycemic control by decreasing hepatic glucose production and increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization. This combination therapy is indicated for patients with type 2 diabetes who are inadequately controlled by diet and exercise alone or by metformin monotherapy.
