Overview

Galvokimig (UCB5285) is a novel multi-specific antibody-based therapeutic developed by UCB Biopharma for the treatment of moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis. It is designed to simultaneously inhibit interleukin-13 (IL-13), interleukin-17A (IL-17A), and interleukin-17F (IL-17F), thereby selectively targeting both Th2 and Th17 inflammatory pathways that contribute to chronic skin inflammation. The molecule is engineered with an extended half-life through albumin binding, potentially allowing for less frequent dosing. In a Phase 1/2a clinical trial, galvokimig demonstrated significant efficacy, with a median of 64.9% of patients achieving EASI75 at Week 12 compared to 12.3% for placebo. UCB plans to initiate a Phase 2b trial for atopic dermatitis by the end of 2025.
