Overview

GamEMab is a monoclonal antibody developed for the emergency prevention of Ebola virus disease (EVD). It targets the glycoprotein of the Ebola virus (EBOV), acting as an inhibitor to prevent viral entry into host cells. The drug was designed for use in infectious disease settings, specifically hemorrhagic fever caused by Ebola, and has undergone Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers. The originator and active developer is the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology under the Health Ministry of the Russian Federation[2].
