Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gamma-PN3 is an inactivated whole-cell pneumococcal vaccine under development by GPN Vaccines for the prevention of pneumococcal disease, including pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae. It is a next-generation version of Gamma-PN, designed to induce broad immunity against all pneumococcal strains. The vaccine consists of a gamma-irradiated, unencapsulated Streptococcus pneumoniae strain and is administered intramuscularly or intranasally. Gamma-PN3 acts as an immunostimulant, aiming to elicit robust antibody responses across diverse serotypes. Clinical trials are ongoing in elderly adults and other populations at risk for severe pneumococcal infections[1][2][3][4][5].
