Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GammaFlu is a preclinical whole inactivated influenza virus vaccine being developed by Gamma Vaccines for broad protection against **seasonal influenza** and **pandemic influenza** caused by **Influenza A** and **Influenza B**. The vaccine uses a proprietary **gamma-irradiation photon inactivation** process to completely inactivate whole virus while preserving native viral protein antigen structure, with the goal of inducing both **humoral** and **T-cell immune responses** and providing cross-protective, potentially longer-lasting immunity than conventional seasonal influenza vaccines. Company materials describe GammaFlu as the lead program on Gamma Vaccines' platform and note an expected potential for improved efficacy in older adults.
