Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gandouling is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed for the treatment of Wilson's disease, also known as hepatolenticular degeneration. It was created by researchers at the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, notably Jun Li. The formula is designed to facilitate the clearance of excess copper from the body, addressing the underlying pathology of Wilson's disease. Clinical studies, including Phase 4 trials, have evaluated its efficacy and safety both as a monotherapy and in combination with standard treatments like zinc gluconate. It is available in tablet and capsule forms and is recognized for its role in improving clinical symptoms and liver function in affected patients.
