Overview
Ganduqing granule (also known as GDQ) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound preparation composed of Radix Astragali (Huangqi) and Rhizoma Belamcandae (Shegan). Developed by the Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ganduqing granule is formulated to invigorate Qi, strengthen body resistance, and detoxify. It is primarily developed for the treatment of the common cold (specifically with qi deficiency leading to lingering of evil syndrome) and has been evaluated in clinical trials to relieve symptoms such as sore throat, nasal discharge, fatigue, and pharyngalgia. Additionally, Ganduqing granule has been approved in China for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B, where it helps balance metabolic disorders related to lipids and bile acids and relieves oxidative stress. It is also being investigated for its protective effects against PM2.5-induced lung injury and chronic airway inflammation.
