Overview

Ganoderma lucidum spore polysaccharide is a bioactive carbohydrate extract derived from the spores of the medicinal fungus *Ganoderma lucidum* (Reishi). Developed primarily by Nanjing Zhongke Group, it functions as an immunomodulator that enhances the host's immune response by activating natural killer (NK) cells, macrophages, and T-lymphocytes. It also promotes the secretion of essential cytokines such as interleukin-2 (IL-2) and interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma). In clinical settings, particularly in China, it is utilized as an adjuvant therapy for cancer patients to mitigate the adverse effects of chemotherapy, such as fatigue and anorexia, and to improve overall quality of life. Research suggests it may also possess direct anti-tumor properties by inhibiting cancer cell proliferation and migration through various signaling pathways.
