Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ganoderma lucidum spore powder is a botanical product derived from the reproductive spores of the *Ganoderma lucidum* fungus, commonly known as Lingzhi or Reishi. In clinical oncology, particularly in China, "de-walled" or sporoderm-broken versions are utilized as adjuvant therapies to enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy and mitigate treatment-related side effects. The powder contains bioactive compounds such as Ganoderma polysaccharides and triterpenoids, which are thought to possess immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and potential anti-tumor properties. It is currently being investigated in stage IV gastric cancer to improve progression-free survival, overall survival, and quality of life when combined with standard chemotherapy regimens.
