Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ganrucao (also known as Ganru Gao or Gan Cream) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) topical ointment developed by the Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University. Based on the clinical experience of the renowned TCM dermatologist Zhao Bingnan, the formulation typically contains active ingredients such as frankincense (Ruxiang), prepared calamine (Ganshi), dragon's bone (Longgu), red halloysite (Chishizhi), and cuttlebone (Haipiaoxiao) in a vaseline base. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic skin ulcers, including stage III pressure injuries (pressure ulcers), diabetic foot ulcers, and other non-healing wounds. Ganrucao ointment promotes wound healing, tissue regeneration, and granulation ('promoting granulation and removing devitalized tissue') by maintaining a moist wound environment and exerting anti-inflammatory and tissue-repairing effects.
