Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gasease Strips is an orally disintegrating film (ODF) formulation of simethicone developed by DRS Biopharma (also known as DRS Industries). Simethicone is a non-systemic anti-foaming agent that acts physically by reducing the surface tension of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract. This action causes the bubbles to coalesce, facilitating their expulsion through belching or passing flatus, thereby relieving symptoms of bloating, flatulence, and gas-related digestive discomfort. The ODF delivery system allows the medication to dissolve rapidly on the tongue without the need for water, offering a convenient and discreet option for symptom management.
