Overview

**GasK7 bacteriocin** is an Osel-developed synthetic bacteriocin technology being investigated preclinically for cervical cancer. It is based on bacteriocins from *Lactobacillus paragasseri* K7 that selectively inhibit *Lactobacillus iners*, a vaginal microbiome species associated with dysbiosis and proposed to include tumor-associated pathotypes in cervical cancer. Published work identified gassericin K7A and gassericin K7B as class IIb bacteriocin systems and demonstrated potent, selective *L. iners* inhibition while largely sparing protective vaginal lactobacilli. Osel and MD Anderson have a collaboration and license agreement covering preclinical development, manufacturing, and planned cervical-cancer clinical development of synthetic GasK7 bacteriocin technology.
