Overview

Gastrosyn is a human milk oligosaccharide (HMO)-based synbiotic formulation designed to modulate the gut microbiome and promote intestinal mucosal healing. It consists of a specific blend of prebiotics, including HMOs, and a probiotic consortium featuring strains of *Lactobacillus* and *Bifidobacterium*, supplemented with a powerful antioxidant for synergistic anti-inflammatory effects. The formulation is designed to enhance interspecies synergy within the gut ecosystem, fostering the production of beneficial metabolites such as short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and improving gut barrier integrity. Gastrosyn has been investigated in clinical case studies for the management of refractory Crohn's disease, where it demonstrated the potential to induce deep clinical and endoscopic remission and reduce inflammatory markers like fecal calprotectin.
