Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gastrovegetalin is an over-the-counter (OTC) traditional herbal medicine developed and marketed by Verla-Pharm Arzneimittel for the treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders, including functional dyspepsia (irritable stomach) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The active ingredient is a high-quality extract of lemon balm leaves (*Melissa officinalis*), which is rich in essential oils and rosmarinic acid. Gastrovegetalin acts on the vegetative nervous system of the digestive tract to provide spasmolytic (antispasmodic), carminative, and calming effects, helping to alleviate symptoms such as heartburn, abdominal pain, cramps, bloating, and flatulence. It is available in oral solution and soft capsule formulations.
