Overview

GB-6203 is a long-acting, sustained-release injectable formulation of dutasteride developed by G2G Bio for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness). The drug utilizes G2G Bio's proprietary InnoLAMP (Innovative Long-Acting MicroParticle) technology, which encapsulates the active ingredient in biodegradable PLGA (poly lactic-co-glycolic acid) microparticles. This delivery system is designed to provide therapeutic drug levels for a duration of one to three months from a single administration, potentially improving patient compliance over daily oral medications. Dutasteride acts as a dual inhibitor of both Type 1 and Type 2 5-alpha-reductase enzymes, which are responsible for converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). By significantly reducing systemic and scalp DHT levels, GB-6203 aims to prevent the miniaturization of hair follicles and promote hair regrowth in patients with alopecia.
