Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GB-7001 is a novel, once-monthly, sustained-release injectable formulation of semaglutide, developed by G2GBio. It utilizes G2GBio's proprietary InnoLAMP microsphere technology to achieve a prolonged therapeutic effect and significantly reduce injection site inflammation, a common side effect of microsphere injectables. Semaglutide, the active pharmaceutical ingredient, is a glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, primarily indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. This long-acting formulation aims to enhance patient convenience and adherence by reducing the frequency of administration compared to existing weekly GLP-1 receptor agonists.
