Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GB-CP23 (also known as GB-AOS6) is an investigational adjunctive therapy being developed by GlycosBio for the treatment of Group A Streptococcus-associated clinical pharyngitis (strep throat). It utilizes GlycosBio's proprietary Activated Oil System (AOS) platform, which consists of engineered lipids designed to selectively target bacterial pathogens while preserving commensal microbiota. GB-CP23 is administered as an adjunctive treatment alongside standard-of-care antibiotics. It has been evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial (known as 'The Lion Trial') to assess its safety, tolerability, and exploratory efficacy in children and adolescents with sore throats.
