Overview
GB-SM23 (also known as GB-AOS3) is an oral hygiene therapeutic candidate being developed by GlycosBio for the treatment of dental caries and the reduction of high oral Streptococcus mutans levels. Formulated as a toothpaste, GB-SM23 utilizes GlycosBio's proprietary Activated Oil System (AOS) platform technology, which consists of modified plant oils. The mechanism of action involves a selective bactericidal effect against S. mutans without disrupting other commensal bacterial constituents in the oral biofilm. It is currently in clinical development.
