Overview

GB19 is a novel small molecule identified as a potent inhibitor of Dipeptidyl Peptidase IV (DPP4). Molecular docking and dynamics simulations suggest it has a high binding affinity towards the DPP4 active site through conventional hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interactions. It is being investigated for its potential in the discovery of new drugs to treat type 2 diabetes. The identifier "GB19" is non-specific and also refers to a mouse monoclonal antibody that binds to the human transferrin receptor, produced against full-term human placental microvilli.
