Overview

GB223 is a novel, fully humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand (RANKL). By specifically binding to RANKL, GB223 blocks its interaction with the RANK receptor on osteoclast cell surfaces. This inhibition suppresses osteoclast activity, reduces bone resorption, and may increase bone mineral density. GB223 is being developed primarily for conditions involving excessive bone resorption such as postmenopausal osteoporosis and giant cell tumor of bone. The drug has demonstrated a favorable safety profile in phase I clinical trials in healthy adults and exhibits nonlinear pharmacokinetics with a long half-life following subcutaneous administration[1][2][3][6].
