Overview

GB247 is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar of infliximab, developed by Genor Biopharma for the treatment of various autoimmune diseases. It is a chimeric monoclonal antibody that targets and neutralizes tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), a key pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in systemic inflammation. By binding to both soluble and transmembrane forms of TNF-α, GB247 inhibits the cytokine's interaction with its receptors, thereby suppressing the inflammatory cascade associated with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease. GB247 is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development, potentially as a subcutaneous formulation designed to offer improved patient convenience compared to traditional intravenous infliximab administration.
