This dual-targeting approach aims to synergistically enhance anti-tumor immune responses by blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitory checkpoint while providing localized interferon signaling to the tumor microenvironment, potentially overcoming resistance to standard checkpoint inhibitor therapies.
