Overview

GB5005 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy targeting CD19, developed by Shanghai Genechem for the treatment of hematological malignancies, particularly B-cell leukemias and lymphomas. The product consists of a patient’s own T cells genetically engineered to express a CAR that recognizes the CD19 antigen on malignant B cells. Upon infusion, these modified T cells seek out and destroy CD19-positive cancerous B lymphocytes through immunologic cytotoxicity. The drug is being investigated primarily for relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), with additional exploration in other blood cancers and immune system diseases[1][2][3][4].
