GBP3 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of Guanylate-binding protein 3 (GBP3). GBP3 is a member of the interferon-inducible GTPase family and has been implicated in the progression of various cancers, most notably glioblastoma multiforme and oral squamous cell carcinoma, where it often promotes cell proliferation, migration, and resistance to apoptosis. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, GBP3 siRNA facilitates the sequence-specific degradation of GBP3 mRNA, thereby reducing protein levels and inhibiting the downstream signaling pathways associated with tumor growth. While currently utilized primarily as a research tool in preclinical oncology and immunology studies, it represents a potential therapeutic strategy for targeting GBP3-overexpressing malignancies.
