Overview

GBP5 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Guanylate Binding Protein 5 (GBP5). GBP5 is a member of the interferon-inducible large GTPase family and has been identified as a driver of malignancy in glioblastoma (GBM), particularly the mesenchymal subtype. By targeting the Src/ERK1/2/MMP3 signaling axis, GBP5 siRNA inhibits the proliferation, migration, and invasion of GBM cells. Preclinical studies conducted at the University of Minnesota have demonstrated that silencing GBP5 results in impaired tumor growth and improved survival in mouse models of glioblastoma, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target for brain tumors.
