GBP560-A is an mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed by SK Bioscience for the prevention of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) infection. It is one of two formulations (alongside GBP560-B) being evaluated under the GBP560 program. The vaccine utilizes messenger RNA technology to instruct host cells to produce JEV-specific antigens, thereby eliciting a protective immune response. The development of GBP560-A is supported by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), which has provided significant funding for its clinical advancement. The candidate is currently in Phase I/II clinical trials in Australia and New Zealand, where it is being tested for safety, reactogenicity, and immunogenicity in healthy adults at various dose levels (3µg, 15µg, and 50µg) administered in a two-dose regimen.
