GBR 1302 is a bispecific monoclonal antibody engineered using Glenmark’s BEAT platform. It simultaneously targets the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) on tumor cells and the CD3 complex on T lymphocytes. By binding to both HER2 and CD3, GBR 1302 redirects cytotoxic T cells to kill HER2-expressing cancer cells through immune-mediated lysis. This mechanism is independent of the T cell’s native specificity and has demonstrated potent activity against both high (IHC3+) and equivocal (IHC2+) HER2-expressing tumors—including those resistant to trastuzumab—in preclinical models. The drug has shown a favorable therapeutic window with low off-tumor toxicity in non-cancerous tissues expressing normal levels of HER2. Clinical development focused on metastatic breast cancer and other solid tumors overexpressing HER2[1][5][6][7].
