Overview

GBR-900 is a first-in-class humanized monoclonal antibody that acts as an antagonist of the tropomyosin receptor kinase A (TrkA), which is the high-affinity receptor for nerve growth factor (NGF). By targeting TrkA, GBR-900 aims to block NGF-mediated pain signaling pathways involved in chronic pain conditions. The drug was originally developed by Lay Line Genomics and later licensed to Glenmark Pharmaceuticals for further development. Preclinical studies indicated that GBR-900 may have a favorable safety profile compared to anti-NGF antibodies and demonstrated efficacy in animal models of inflammatory pain. Its primary indication has been chronic pain; however, clinical development appears to have stalled after completion of phase 1 trials in healthy volunteers[1][2][4][5].
