Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**GBS6** is Pfizer's investigational hexavalent maternal vaccine for prevention of invasive disease caused by *Streptococcus agalactiae* in newborns and young infants. Also designated **PF-06760805**, it comprises capsular polysaccharide antigens from six Group B Streptococcus serotypes conjugated to the carrier protein CRM197. Maternal intramuscular vaccination is intended to generate serotype-specific maternal antibodies that are transferred transplacentally to the infant, providing passive protection during early life. GBS6 received FDA Fast Track designation in 2017 and Breakthrough Therapy designation in 2022; Pfizer's Phase 3 BEATRIX study is evaluating the vaccine in healthy pregnant participants and their infants.
