Overview

GC012 is a dual-targeting chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to simultaneously target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and CD19. Developed by Gracell Biotechnologies (now a subsidiary of AstraZeneca), GC012 is primarily being evaluated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) and autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The bispecific nature of the CAR construct is intended to overcome tumor heterogeneity and prevent relapse associated with BCMA-negative or CD19-positive clones. A specific version of the therapy, GC012F, is manufactured using the proprietary FasT CAR-T platform, which reduces the production time to approximately 24 to 36 hours, potentially improving T-cell fitness and reducing the risk of disease progression during the manufacturing wait time.
