Overview

GC012F is an autologous dual-targeting chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy that simultaneously targets B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and CD19. Developed by Shanghai Gracell Biotechnologies (now a subsidiary of AstraZeneca), GC012F utilizes the proprietary FasT CAR platform, which enables next-day manufacturing (approximately 24 to 36 hours). This shortened production time is designed to enhance T-cell fitness and reduce the risk of disease progression during the manufacturing wait period. By targeting two distinct antigens frequently expressed on malignant plasma cells and B-cells, GC012F aims to improve treatment efficacy and reduce the likelihood of relapse due to antigen escape. The therapy is currently under clinical investigation for various stages of multiple myeloma, B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and autoimmune conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus.
