GC019F is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD19 antigen. Developed by Peking University Third Hospital, it is designed for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). The therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that recognizes and binds to CD19, a protein expressed on the surface of B-cell lineage cells and most B-cell malignancies. Upon binding to CD19, the CAR-T cells are activated to proliferate and specifically eliminate the leukemic B cells. GC019F is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in patients who have failed standard therapies.
