Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GC01gel is a synthetic peptide-based therapeutic developed by GlioCure for the treatment of resectable glioblastoma. It is a specific formulation of the lead compound GC01 (also referred to as GC01.1), which targets βIII-tubulin (tubulin beta-3 chain). The drug is designed with a dual mechanism of action: it provides anti-tumor activity by inhibiting the proliferation and migration of glioma cells, while simultaneously offering neuroprotective effects to preserve healthy brain tissue. GC01gel is intended for local administration into the surgical cavity following tumor resection to prevent recurrence. It is currently in the lead optimization and preclinical development stage.
