Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GC01solution is a synthetic peptide therapeutic being developed by GlioCure for the treatment of non-resectable glioblastoma and other solid tumors. The drug specifically targets βIII-tubulin (tubulin beta-3 chain), a microtubule component that is highly expressed in aggressive, drug-resistant cancer cells but absent in healthy mature neurons. GC01 exhibits a dual mechanism of action, providing both anti-tumor activity by inhibiting tumor cell proliferation and neuroprotective effects to preserve healthy brain tissue. The solution formulation is designed for local administration to address tumors that are not amenable to surgical resection. It is currently in the lead optimization and preclinical stage of development.
