Overview
GC1138A is a therapeutic candidate being developed by Green Cross (GC Biopharma) for the treatment of Glanzmann thrombasthenia, a rare genetic bleeding disorder characterized by the deficiency or dysfunction of the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa (GPIIb/IIIa) complex on the surface of platelets. As a platelet therapy, GC1138A aims to restore the essential platelet aggregation and blood clotting functions mediated by the GPIIb/IIIa receptor. By addressing the underlying molecular defect in Glanzmann thrombasthenia, the therapy is designed to prevent or treat bleeding episodes in affected patients. It is currently in Phase 3 clinical development.
