Overview

GC506 is a Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2) targeting CAR-T cell therapy developed by Gracell Biotechnologies Inc. It is designed to treat Claudin 18.2 positive tumors. The therapy incorporates Gracell's proprietary SMART CART™ technology, which aims to overcome the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). This is achieved by re-engineering the CAR-T cells to block inhibitory transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) signals and convert them into stimulatory signals, thereby enhancing CAR-T cell proliferation, persistence, and cytotoxicity against solid tumors.
