Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GC5125A is a recombinant von Willebrand factor (rVWF) replacement therapy being developed by GC Biopharma (formerly Green Cross) for the treatment of von Willebrand disease (vWD). vWD is a hereditary bleeding disorder characterized by a deficiency or defect in von Willebrand factor, a multimeric glycoprotein essential for platelet adhesion to the subendothelium and for the stabilization of coagulation Factor VIII. GC5125A aims to restore these critical hemostatic functions by providing exogenous VWF, thereby controlling or preventing bleeding episodes in affected individuals. The candidate is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
