Overview

GC8 is a novel synthesized phenothiazine derivative, chemically identified as 2-amino-6-(3-hydroxy-4-methyl phenyl) pyrimidine-4-yl) (7-chloro-10-(3- (N, N-dimethylamino) propyl)-10H-phenothiazine-3-yl) methanone. It functions as a dopamine antagonist, significantly reducing brain dopamine levels, and has shown potential for treating psychological and psychotic disorders. The compound was developed and studied by researchers at GIET School of Pharmacy, Rajahmundry, India, and evaluated in Wistar rats.
