GCb

GCb is a non-specific term that refers to at least two distinct substances mentioned in clinical contexts: glucocerebrosidase (GCB), specifically Gene-Activated® human glucocerebrosidase (GA-GCB, also known as velaglucerase alfa), and GCB-70, a green coffee extract. Velaglucerase alfa is an enzyme replacement therapy used to treat Gaucher disease, a rare lysosomal storage disorder caused by a deficiency of the glucocerebrosidase enzyme. It works by replacing the deficient enzyme, thereby preventing the accumulation of glucocerebroside within macrophages. GCB-70 is a nutraceutical derived from raw coffee beans, and it has been clinically evaluated for its efficacy in weight loss, acting as a slimming aid.
