Overview

GCC-4D7 is a monoclonal antibody (mAb) that specifically targets the extracellular domain of Guanylyl Cyclase C (GCC), also known as GUCY2C. GCC is a transmembrane receptor primarily expressed on the apical surface of intestinal epithelial cells, but it is highly overexpressed in primary and metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC), as well as gastric and esophageal cancers. Because its expression is normally restricted to the intestinal mucosa, GCC-4D7 serves as a highly specific targeting moiety for therapeutic and diagnostic applications. The antibody has been utilized as the targeting component (scFv) in the development of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) designed to selectively eliminate GCC-positive tumor cells. It is also used in immunohistochemistry (IHC) to identify metastatic colorectal cancer in extra-intestinal tissues.
