Overview

GCC-CART is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting Guanylyl Cyclase C (GUCY2C), a transmembrane receptor primarily expressed on the apical surface of intestinal epithelial cells and frequently overexpressed in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Developed by Protheragen, the therapy involves engineering a patient's T cells to express a CAR specific to GUCY2C, enabling the cells to recognize and eliminate GUCY2C-positive tumor cells. The program is currently in Phase I clinical development for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.
