GCC-SIR-T is an investigational cell therapy being developed by Angeles Therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors, specifically those expressing Guanylyl Cyclase C (GCC), such as colorectal cancer. The therapy utilizes the company's proprietary Synthetic Immune Receptor (SIR) platform. Unlike traditional Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs), SIRs are designed to integrate into the natural T-cell receptor (TCR) complex, utilizing endogenous signaling subunits (like CD3) to trigger T-cell activation. This approach aims to provide superior sensitivity to low-density antigens and improved persistence compared to standard CAR-T therapies. The program is currently in the preclinical stage and targets the extracellular domain of GCC, a protein frequently overexpressed in gastrointestinal malignancies.
