Overview

GCP-003 (gPhe-HMRG) is an activatable fluorescent probe developed by GORYO Chemical in collaboration with Solasia Pharma for the intraoperative detection of postoperative pancreatic juice leakage (pancreatic fistula). The probe is based on the hydroxymethyl rhodamine green (HMRG) fluorophore, which is initially non-fluorescent. Upon contact with pancreatic juice, the probe is enzymatically activated by chymotrypsin (the active form of chymotrypsinogen), resulting in a rapid increase in fluorescence. This allows surgeons to identify leakage sites in real-time during surgery, potentially reducing the incidence and severity of complications following pancreatic resection.
