Overview

GD-17 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor of phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) being developed by Gudui BioPharma. PDE4 is an enzyme responsible for the degradation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in immune and inflammatory cells. By inhibiting PDE4, GD-17 increases intracellular cAMP levels, which leads to the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokine production (such as TNF-alpha and IL-12) and the promotion of anti-inflammatory mediators. This mechanism is designed to modulate the immune response in chronic inflammatory conditions. The drug is currently being investigated for its potential in treating inflammatory diseases, specifically inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and multiple sclerosis (MS).
