**Gd-DOTA-colchicinic acid** is an experimental small-molecule theranostic conjugate comprising a gadolinium(III)-DOTA magnetic-resonance-imaging chelate linked to colchicinic acid, a colchicine derivative. It binds tubulin and destabilizes microtubules, producing cytotoxic and vascular-disrupting effects, while the gadolinium chelate enables T1-weighted MRI contrast enhancement. In ovarian carcinoma cell lines and OVCAR-3 xenografts, the compound produced tubulin-destabilization-associated cellular changes and central tumor necrosis while reducing tumor T1 relaxation time.
