Overview

Gd-FC705 is a gadolinium-based MRI contrast agent specifically designed to target the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is highly expressed in prostate cancer cells. It consists of a gadolinium chelate conjugated to a PSMA-targeting ligand. In preclinical evaluations, Gd-FC705 demonstrated significantly higher r1 and r2 relaxivities compared to the standard non-specific contrast agent Gd-DOTA, particularly in human serum albumin (HSA) solutions. The agent exhibits high specificity for PSMA-positive tumor cells, resulting in a 2-fold increase in the contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) in in vivo imaging of human prostate cancer xenografts. Its targeted accumulation and prolonged circulation time make it a promising diagnostic candidate for the sensitive detection and localization of prostate cancer using magnetic resonance imaging.
